573-charles

Like many immigrants, August Pomplun came to St. Paul looking to establish a home. A common laborer, he built two homes: 575 Charles in 1883 as a homestead, and 573 Charles in 1885 for rental income. An open entry porch, gardens, chickens, for beginnings and transitions, families have been calling these houses homes for over 120 years. Seeing the value in renovating homes and preserving the character and authenticity of historic real estate, like 573 Charles, Preserve Frogtown, LLC was formed. Land Bank Twin Cities purchased and held a property for them as they were forming, and provided a line of credit for use on their first single family project. As their experience has grown, including the renovation and sale of 573 Charles, so has their line of credit with us, which is enabling greater impact.
